Frequently Asked Questions
Session length:
50 minutes. Occasionally, a longer session is scheduled for EMDR.
Location:
Online, on a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform.
Rate:
$180 per 50 minute session, $3/minute after that.
Do you accept insurance?
I accept Aetna, Anthem, Cigna, Tricare, and United Healthcare. I provide Superbills if I am out-of-network with your insurance.
Paying out of pocket, rather than going through your insurance company, allows us to work together without a diagnosis. Your information does not go to a third party insurance company. Many families also choose to pay through their company's health spending account.
How long will we need to be in therapy?
The answer depends on your child and family as well as the type of treatment that we proceed with. EMDR is known to be a short-term treatment, both efficient and effective.
How often are the appointments?
That is up to you, but we can talk more about what will work best for you and and your situation. Generally, it is helpful to meet weekly, especially in the beginning, as we are establishing a relationship. I know this is not always possible, and meeting every other week can also work well.
Who is in the session?
When I work with children and adolescents, parents/caregivers are an essential part of the process. Sessions vary from being child-only, parent-only, and parent-child
